Tummy Tuck Procedure

A very famous procedure completed regularly by our surgeons, a tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the abdominal area while also tightening the underlying muscles.  It is commonly completed on individuals who have lost a significant amount of weight, had multiple pregnancies or have loose and sagging abdominal skin due to aging.

How is a Tummy Tuck performed?

During the tummy tuck procedure, the plastic surgeon will make a horizontal incision on the lower abdomen, just abo e the pubic area.  Excess skin and fat are then removed, and the abdominal muscles are tightened using sutures to enhance abdominal tone.  The remaining skin is then pulled down, and the navel is repositioned to look natural.

Tummy tuck surgery is typically performed under general anaesthesia and can take several hours to complete, depending on the extent of the surgery.  After the procedure, patients may need to stay in the hospital for 1-2 days to manage the pain and swelling.  Our client trips for tummy tucks are set for a period of 7-10 days, dependant on the medical assessment completed by our doctors prior to Turkish Trends providing a quote package.

What should a client expect from a Tummy Tuck Procedure

It is important for clients to have a realistic expectation about the results of their tummy tuck procedure.  Whle the surgery can provide dramatic improvement to the appearance of the abdominal area, the results are not permanent, and patients are encouraged to maintain a healthy diet and exercise program to maintain their new contour.

What are the Risks of a Tummy Tuck?

Complications from tummy tuck surgery are rare; however, as with any surgical procedure, there are risks involved, such as bleeding and/or infection.  Our plastic surgeon will review your candidacy after you complete a questionnaire outlining answers to any concerns they may have.  Blood work is also completed in turn the day prior to surgery in order to alleviate any further potential risks by affirming results with questionnaire answers.
